Day 6: Thursday / Rio De Janeiro Flight To Salvador

Breakfast at the hotel Transfer to the airport. Flight to Salvador (not included) Cradle of sugar cultivation in its first hundred years, the city owes its economic development to the search for gold and diamonds from the mines in the interior of the country. After Lisbon, Salvador was the second city of the Portuguese empire, distinguished by its numerous churches overflowing with gold and its magnificent colonial buildings and its festivals. Capital of the State of Bahia, Salvador is today the most African city in Brazil. Here the syncretism between Catholicism and African rituals imported by ancient slaves is expressed in festivals, processions, music and cuisine. It is impossible to resist the temptations that this city offers: a tropical environment and a culture rich in traditions and festivals. Arrival at the airport and transfer to the city center. Lunch at the Uaua restaurant: you will taste the famous moqueca, a typical specialty of the Bahia State, prepared with fish, coconut milk and palm oil. Salvador is divided into two parts: Cidade Baixa and Cidade Alta – developed at the base and on the top of a hill of about 100 meters. Many narrow streets, trams and elevators connect the two parts. Beginning of the visit to the Upper Town, the ancient city, which houses the major monuments where it is possible to admire the richness of its Baroque architecture, a permanent source of discovery. The richness of Salvador's religious past is why today the city is called "the city of 365 Churches". Guided tour of the upper city, where visitors will have the opportunity to visit the Plaza de Pelourinho, the place where slaves were punished in ancient times and which today is the place with the largest number of examples of colonial architecture and the growing cultural renaissance such as the Church of Nosso Senhor de Bomfin and the church of San Francesco. Dinner not included. Overnight stay at the VILA GALE SALVADOR hotel or SIMILAR hotel.

Day 7: Friday / Salvador

Breakfast at the hotel. We continue with a visit to the Cidade Baixa (lower city). Salvador developed on the base and top of a hill, which is why it is naturally divided into Cidade Baixa and Cidade Alta. The traditional buildings of the city are flanked by modern constructions, all enclosed in perfect harmony. This contrast between colonial and futurist architecture creates a pleasant variety of backgrounds, with a single common theme: color. You will also have the opportunity to visit the beautiful Mercado Modelo. Free lunch Time available to discover this magnificent city. Dinner not included. Overnight stay at the VILA GALE SALVADOR hotel or SIMILAR hotel.
