Santa Maria da Feira is a Portuguese city of the District of Aveiro, located in the Statistical Region of the North (NUTS II), in the Metropolitan Area of ​​Oporto (NUTS III) and intermunicipal community of Greater Oporto Metropolitan Area, with about 11 000 inhabitants in its central nucleus and about 147 406 within its municipal district. It is the seat of a municipality with 213.45 km² of area and 135 964 inhabitants (2001), subdivided into 31 parishes. The municipality limits to the north with the municipalities of Vila Nova de Gaia and Gondomar, to the east with Arouca, to the southeast with Oliveira de Azeméis and São João da Madeira, to the south and west with Ovar and to the west with Espinho. It is located 28 km south of Porto. It is known for its castle. It stands out for its Imaginarius International Street Theater Festival and for the Medieval Voyage in Tierras de Santa Maria.
