Bragança Portugal

Bragança is a beautiful town located in the Tras-os-Montes region with a medieval castle and surrounded by well-preserved walls. It is a small city in an isolated location very near the Spanish border. This isolated position has maintained the city’s character with the help of a fantastic range of mountains and highlands surrounding this expanding city. Above the new town stands the medieval city, in the shelter of the old walls. The Citadel, the medieval castle with a village inside is preserved in excellent condition and has a distinctly medieval flavour. Inside the Citadel is the Torre de Menagem, the massive keep of the castle belonging to the Dukes of Bragança. Inside the walls you will also find the Domus Municipalis, a unique example of civic Romanesque architecture, as well as lovely streets, beautiful houses, churches and the beautiful Cathedral from the 16th century. Beside the beautiful historical monuments, the city offers a dynamic dining scene and a great nightlife with pubs and cafes.
